WOOT!! Just really excited about my first IPO ever!!!!! we priced at $11 a share and ended the day at $14.15 per share!

It’s been a long time in coming. I moved out here in ’98 and have lived through the lean times of the post-2000 bail-out of all things Internets. It’s nice to be on the upside of good times.

Thanx to all those that deserve but don’t get naming (sorry, for strict reasons of privacy). If you think you deserve thanx, then I give you those thanx and more. You know who you are. I’ve worked with the best and it shows. Many amazing people have stood alongside me and I have worked for many amazing talents during the downturn in the .com economy and we’ve come out of it all and stood tall. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I can’t begin to express my thanx.

If you don’t know about it, you owe it to yourself to go read it and learn about how to be a smarter consumer and find out about evil evil companies… So like I was saying, there’s this website called Consumerist.com and they have started to use flickr images for pictures above each of their posts. Blast from the past

My buddy Dave just posted this video to YouTube. I had completely forgotten about it! Totally takes me back… Here’s the story, as Dave puts it…

This is an old PSA (1993) for the Church of Latter Day Saints. Not that I’m big into that cause, but the story behind this PSA for me…

Back when I worked at WEEK, sometimes our newscasts would run short. When they did, we would add a station promo or PSA to fill time. When we discovered this gem, it became a favorite of the crew and we would run it whenever we could. The 60 version is a lot better than the 30… it features extra rejections.

Honored

YAY! A picture I took of our little Daphers (along with her cousin Maggie) was recently honored in one of the oldest “Top Views” groups on flickr and she got a blog post over here too. It’s one of my favorite pictures of all time, that I took. Here’s a small version but click it for the flickr page and gaze upon the accolades. [insert spooky door creaking sound]

Hey folks. I’m peeking my head out from behind the door to let you know I still exist. I’m working on my manifesto…. ummm. heh. just kidding…

I do have two things to quickly mention.

First… If you’re “in the know”, Cathy and I have updated our wedding website. The design hasn’t been tweaked to reflect the old design yet but we felt it more important to just get it changed. Hopefully there will be more frequent updates and you can subscribe to the RSS feed to get updates as well. So make sure you check it out if you know the url. No, we’re not giving it out willy-nilly. At least not until after the wedding.

Secondly… what are y’all doing on June 13th at 6:30pm Pacific time? Don’t know yet? CATHY AND I DO!!!! LA LA LA!!!! I’ll tell ya what we’re doing after you click the “more” link… (ooh, the suspense!)

My favorite Super Bowl XLI moments

  1. The opening kickoff returned for a touchdown. GO BEARS!!!!
  2. David Letterman and Oprah Winfrey in love
  3. Back-to-back fumbles. I love an exciting game.
  4. Thinking that your team was going to win but being happy for the opposing team’s quarterback who FINALLY won a Super Bowl.
  5. The Garmin ad with GarminMan.
  6. Hating Comcast because they suck. (signal quality my ass)

And are Cathy and I the only ones who thought this years commercials SUCKED ASS!!??!??!??? WTF!? If I were the CEO who approved a commercial in this year’s Super Bowl for what ever exorbitant amount of extortion money they charged, and realized they competed against that WEAK ASS collection of commercials, I’d resign.

They SUCKED this year. And NO I’m not lashing out because the team I was rooting for lost. Really!!! Can the best non-game moment be David Letterman and Oprah Winfrey lovin’ in front of the TV??? This is the Super Bowl!!!! People are supposed to step up with the commercials!!!

We’re supposed to not be able to work on monday because we can’t stop talking about the commercials. The game is supposed to play second fiddle to the commercials. This year, I think even PRINCE played better than the teams and the commercials.

At least Brett is coming back!!!!!
